Why Hye Harvest Starts With the Farm

Hye Friends, it’s Ross with Hye Harvest and Hye Harvest Farms.
We’ve had a lot of new friends join us lately, so this felt like a good time to start something we’ve talked about for a while. While we've shared a lot from the farm through photos and videos, an Instagram post only goes so far. In this journal entry, I wanted a place to talk more about what we’re doing here in Hye, Texas, how we do it, what we’re learning and why we’re doing it.
So I thought we should start there.
We Are Farmers First
To begin, we're farmers first. That's been at the center of Hye Harvest from day one.
When we Hye Harvest started because we believed in the plant and the place it could have in people’s lives, whether that meant slowing down, making something, spending time with people they care about or simply enjoying the moment.
Those are the moments we’ve come to call Hye Moments. Your Hye Moment probably looks different from mine. It should...
We want to help people understand what we grow, how we make it and the choices available to them. For us, that starts in the soil.

The People Behind the Grow
One of my first jobs in building Hye Harvest was finding people who understood how to grow plants well. Above all, I wanted growers with experience, curiosity and respect for the plant.
That distinction mattered.
Today, our cultivation team brings second- and third-generation growing experience from different backgrounds. We affectionately call ourselves the Texas Wild Flower Growers.

Wildflowers come in different shapes, colors and varieties. Give the right plants good soil and the right environment, then let nature do its part. Something pretty special can happen.
That’s a good description of our team, too. Although we come from different backgrounds, generations of knowledge still came together here in Hye, Texas. Not to mention, I’ve learned a lot from them.
Why We Grow in Living Soil
Living soil became the foundation for how we grow. Overall, it creates an active environment around the roots, and caring for that soil is part of caring for every plant.

We pay the same attention to the systems around it. We reuse resources where we can, use reverse osmosis to give our plants a consistent water source and choose lighting that supports each stage of the grow.
Those systems support the knowledge of our growers.
The farming, the people and the technology all work toward the same goal. . .giving each plant a strong place to grow.

We pay attention to expression, aroma and flavor. As a result, those details tell us a lot about what’s happening in the grow.
There are easier and faster ways to grow. On the other hand, that’s not what we’re after. Hye Harvest Farms is trying to grow something good.
Knowing Where It Comes From
We’ve had a running joke around Hye Harvest for a long time. People don’t necessarily know good cannabis. They know available cannabis.
In fact, there’s some truth to it.
Not to mention, for years, many people had little reason to ask where their cannabis came from. Who grew it? What was in the soil? How was it grown? Why can one plant be so different from another?

So, we think you should be able to find those answers. Those are the conversations we want to have here. We want to educate, share what we know and ultimatly keep learning along the way.
Always Learning at Hye Harvest Farms
Something is always growing at Hye Harvest Farms. To clarify, plants are at different stages, our growers are watching closely and what we learn from one cycle carries into the next.

Above all, that experience helps us choose what we grow in Hye based on what we see from the plant, not simply what happens to be popular. That learning continues to take us in new directions.
For example, we’re cultivating CBD and CBG genetics at the farm. It gives our growers another chance to learn how different plants grow and develop. I’ll share more of that work here as it moves forward.
From the Farm to Hye Harvest
The same thinking follows us from the farm into the products we make.

Meyer Lemon and Trois were created for different Hye Moments. Meyer Lemon sits on our Clear + Creative side. Trois sits on our Calm + Cool side. Both start with the same focus on ingredients, consistency and knowing what goes into the jar.
We want each product to be easy to understand so people can make the choice that fits them. That’s part of what we’re working toward.
The work continues. We’re developing another addition to the Hye Harvest family, and I’m looking forward to sharing more when the time is right.
What Comes Next
I want this blog to be a place where we can finally share more of the work happening here in Hye. What we’re growing. What we’re learning. The people behind it. What happens in our soil. And, of course, why we make the choices we make.
Before the Wild Flower, the full-spectrum gummies, the jars and the labels, there’s a farm.
There are people taking care of it.
There are plants growing in living soil.
And there’s a group of Texas Wild Flower Growers here in Hye working every day to grow something we’re proud of.
That’s where Hye Harvest starts.
Farmers first. Always.
Thanks for following along, friends.
All good things ahead.
