What Hye Harvest is Growing Next

Hye, Friends.

The future of hemp in Texas remains uncertain. Hye Harvest remains focused on the decisions we can make and the work we can do on the farm. We can control what happens on the farm and how we prepare for what comes next.

Hye Harvest is growing new varieties rich in CBD and CBG. The Texas Wild Flower Growers are using what they learn from each crop to guide what Hye Harvest makes next.

Hope is Not a Strategy. The Hye Standard is.

Texas business owners Leah Woolford and Ross Ramon working at their indoor Hemp Farm.

Years ago, a longtime business partner of ours, Leah Woolford, shared a phrase that stuck with us.

“Hope is not a strategy.”

Those words feel especially relevant now.

When we bought the farm in October 2023, we committed to building Hye Harvest from the soil up. We invested in living soil, reverse osmosis irrigation and the growing environment beneath our FOHSE lighting system.

Some crops met our standards. Others did not. More than once, we chose not to bring a harvest to market.

That discipline helped define what we now call the Hye Standard. We were farmers first, and we still are.

The Next Crop Gives You More to Choose From

The next harvest at Hye Harvest is taking the farm into new territory.

Daniel Manrique leads our cultivation team as we grow new varieties naturally rich in CBD and CBG. Each one gives us a different cannabinoid and terpene profile to study, grow and eventually work with.

For you, that means more variety.

Each variety gives the cultivation team a different cannabinoid and terpene profile to work with. Over time, those strains can lead to new extracts, formulas and hemp-derived cannabis products. That gives Hye Harvest more ways to build products around what each plant naturally offers.

What We Look for in a Plant

Cannabinoid percentages only tell part of the story.

Daniel and the cultivation team also look at terpene profiles, trichome and flower density, resistance to pests and mold and how well each plant holds its quality after harvest.

Those details help decide whether a plant moves forward.

A new CBD or CBG profile may open the door to something different, but the plant still has to meet the standards used across the farm.

That gives Hye Harvest room to grow without changing how we grow.

More Cannabinoid Profiles Mean More Product Options

For years, much of the hemp and cannabis conversation has centered on THC. It’s one of the main naturally occurring cannabinoids found in cannabis. THC is best known for producing the psychoactive effects people associate with feeling . . . how they feel.

There’s more to the plant.

CBD and CBG give our team a broader range of cannabinoid profiles to work with and more ways to think about future Hye Harvest products. Both occur naturally in cannabis. CBD stands for cannabidiol, while CBG stands for cannabigerol, and neither is known for producing the high associated with THC.

Both are already part of the blends in Trois and Meyer Lemon, and growing more CBD and CBG-rich plants opens the door to new gummies, extracts, ingredients and other Hye Harvest products.

For customers, the value is more choice without losing sight of where those products started.

Ingredients With a Known Source

The next crop also creates opportunities beyond the products already on Hye Harvest's shelf.

Innovation Lead and Partnerships Director Eddie Velez is working with the cultivation team to explore how oils, extracts and other ingredients from the farm could be used in beverages, topicals and future products.

That matters because source can get lost quickly once a plant becomes an ingredient.

Ours still starts in Hye.

The same living soil, growing practices and harvest standards behind Hye Harvest can carry into the extracts and ingredients that come from the farm.

As more people buy hemp and hemp-derived cannabis products online, knowing where those ingredients came from gives you something useful to look for beyond the front of the package.

The Standards Stay the Same

New genetics don’t require a new growing philosophy.

CBD and CBG plants still move through the same farm, cultivation practices and review before anything goes into a Hye Harvest product. This becomes even more important as the lineup grows.

More variety should still come from a known source, current testing and the same Hye Standard customers already know.

If you’re shopping for hemp-derived cannabis or buying hemp products online, those are the details worth checking before you order.

A New Product Is Already on the Way

One of the next additions is Lifted & Level, a new gummy expression currently being finished for the Hye Harvest lineup.

It gives you another option alongside Meyer Lemon and Trois and adds another cannabinoid profile to the ways you can find your Hye.

We’re keeping that to ourselves for now...

A Closer Look at What Happens on the Farm

The next chapter isn’t only about what reaches the shelf.

Through our social channels and the Texas Wild Flower Growers podcast, you’ll see more from the cultivation team, learn more about the genetics growing in Hye and get a closer look at the decisions made before a product is ready to buy.

That gives you a better view of how Hye Harvest adapts as the industry changes without losing the farm-first approach behind what we make.

There are still unknowns ahead.

The next crop gives us something more useful to work on.

More variety, new cannabinoid profiles and more ways to use what grows in Hye, all backed by the same farm standards that got us here.

Hope is not a strategy. The work is.

All Good Things Ahead.
